Our mission is to establish competencies at the highest scientific
level within technological aspects of the health scene - spanning
from cell to system. Through interaction of engineering and
medical disciplines we develop methods to:
understand and control human biological systems
diagnose and restore impaired physiological functions
retrieve, transmit, interpret and present patient-specific information
Clinical domains for our research include:
Neurorehabilitation, motor control, pain, neurophysiology, stem
cells, work-related neuromuscular impairments, diabetes, neurosurgery,
medical imaging, intensive care, pervasive healthcare, tele-medicine,
and clinical information systems. |

Journals with high impact factors
One of the objectives of Aalborg University is to publish in peer-reviewed journals with high impact factors. Recently a review article co-authored by professor Thomas Sinkjær, Center for Sensory-Motor Interaction, was published in a section of The Lancet, namely The Lancet Neurology, with a 2006 impact factor of 9,5.
